The lesser of two evils?
Would you kill a baby polar bear, rather than let it become reliant on humans who raise it?
I don’t see the dilemma, but animal activists say it’s better to kill the baby, abandoned by its mother, than to rear it in captivity. Hmmm.
The animal rights activists are saying that no life is better than the prospect of nothing but life behind bars. Its not as crazy as you think. I disagree with them but I very much see there point. Personally I’d agree to raise it as my own and I can teach it to let me ride it to the shops and attack people on command. It would be the best pet ever.
“no life is better than the prospect of nothing but life behind bars”
I agree that animal rights activists seem to be thinking this way. I would guess then that they should be asking for the closure of zoos and making pets illegal (I have heard some arguing against keeping pets). I would say that trying to make their point by demanding a polar bear be put down does not help their argument.
The polar bear is in a zoo, regardless. What difference does it make if he/she is tame?
I was going to say I’d only seen Stephen Colbert’s coverage of this which is decidedly anti-bear and was surprised that people thought it would be a good idea to kill the bear. But this article says that it is animal rights activists, not conservationists who are spouting this nonsense, which explains much. Those nuts are crazy enough to say anything.
